am rethinking and reconsidering the female body. In particular I have been developing on the idea of transformation of the human form.

It has been important for me to use drawing as an exploratory method and also a technique for final works. By using line I can create bodies that metamorphose into semiabstract forms. Making the images I create more interesting for the public to view

Using my own body at the beginning, I have been influenced mainly by the following
Painters: - Hans Bellmer and Jenny Saville.
Sculptors: - Antony Gormley and Lee Bul.
Photographers: - Vera Lehnodorff and Cindy Sherman.
Video Artists:- Gary Hill and Bill Viola, and
Performance Artists: Orlan and Eve Dent.


Professional History
Originally working in the international textile & fashion industry I have turned back again into the fine arts, specialising in oil painting and mixed media

The Studio





I work in various studios ranging from bright airy spaces, photographic darkrooms to computer suites.

Some of my work has been site-specific with pieces created and existing in a particular space. The image to the left shows one of my models (Jo) with some of my oil sketches showing the scale of my drawings.

The image below is me in my studio working on the peice 'Final Shock'

Obsidian Art (Bucks) Five Counties Art Competition
Oct/Nov 2003
Peoples Choice - Voted Overall Winner

Most of 300 visitors to the regional Five Counties Art Competition voted Danielles work the best out of the 103 exhibits.

A change from her more usual figurative style the winning piece, simply titled 'Piece M', is a unique combination of ink, charcoal and paint. She says: "From the comments I received, I think that people found it quite sensitive my application of paint and the subject matter. "Most of my work is inspired by the female form, but this is a lot more abstract and not typical of what was on show."
